Legislative Trend Analysis:
My analysis of legislative trends in Alaskan education was a great group project that several of my cohort members and I undertook. We each selected a bill coming before the Alaskan State Legislature that would impact education and followed its progress. Depending on the nature of the bill many of us were advocating our colleagues and friends to write their legislators and encouraged them to get involved in the political process. A principal is an advocate for his community and his profession, and as such needs to be aware of what the legislature is doing. A principal also needs to take care that he does not abuse his public position, unethically influence staff, or use district resources for political purposes.
